What should you do on a monthly basis to maintain your home? Here are 4 things that only take a few moments to do each month, but could save you in the long run:
1. Clean the sink disposal. You will find a lot of ways to do this. However, the best solution you can do is to use vinegar ice cubes. How can you do this? Put some vinegar on the ice tray and allow it to freeze. Then run the vinegar ice cubes in the disposal. Lemon peels also work very well. 2. Check the fire extinguishers. This inspection will not need to be done much; however, you need to ensure that it is accessible. To make it short, you need to ensure it’s not blocked by anything. Make sure there’s enough pressure and there are no visible indications of wear and tear. 3. Inspect the filters of your HVAC Unit. This only applies if you have a forced air unit. A lot of experts tell that you need to change the filters on a monthly basis, but that is not always necessary to do. For those smaller families out there, without allergies or pets, you need to change your filters every two to three months. When you see that the filter is getting dirty, it’s time to change it, otherwise check it again the other month. 4. Clean the range hood filters. In order for you to clean your range hood filters, it is best to use a degreaser from your auto parts store and mixed it with water (or as instructed). Let the filter soak for some time and wash it.
