Have you ever had a slow or clogged drain after you purchased a home? Many people complain about this, and here are some things that happen to cause this:​

1. They were slow to begin with. Many times during walk-through's and showings, we don't always check how fast the drains are, as it is not the first thing on our minds
2. Sometimes as people leave a home they empty out their refrigerator, and without thinking, may dump certain things down the drain that normally wouldn't go in there.
3. Sometimes it is just old drains that didn't get used for a while and whatever slimy residue was in there dried and made the drains slow.

In any case, before going and calling a plumber, try running your water for periods of time over a couple of days and see if that clears it up. Normally, just getting water flowing helps the situation. If not, Draino or drain snaking may be needed.

sIf you look at the picture of the flat roof to the left, it looks pretty "cooked". There are certain types of roofing material that last longer and stand up to the Florida sun better than others. One of those roofing materials is TPO.

TPO is a type of roofing material that is mainly used on flat commercial roofs, but also residential flat roofs as well. The easiest way to describe what it is like is a pool liner. It has a similar look and feel to pool liners, but is much more durable and is meant for more rustic applications. 

Some of what makes it better for a roof in Florida is that it is very UV resistant, a lighter color, more durable, and has less seams in it (so less opportunity for water to get in). The down side to TPO is that it can be costly - but maybe not as costly as replacing other flat roofing materials twice or more instead of installing one TPO roof.
