In line with our electrical theme this month I wanted to talk about the actual electric panel for a moment.

The electric panel is an interesting component in your home because for the most part the important stuff (and the potentially dangerous stuff) is inside the panel and unseen. So how do you know what is going on?

It really calls upon home owner to pay attention to what is going on with their home's electrical in general. Do the lights dim for no reason? Do breakers keep tripping? Is the panel hot? DO outlets work for a time, stop working, and then start working again? All of these issues could mean something is going on inside the panel.
