What does Proper Grading Look Like?
One of the most important things to look at when buying a home, is one of the items that is most overlooked - your grading.
Grading is the slope of the ground around your home. It can either be toward your home, away from your home, or neutral (flat). The obvious one that is most desirable is away from your home. So what is considered "good" grading or a "good" slope of the ground away from your home?
As you can imagine, many organizations disagree on many things - except for this. The overall consensus of mot organizations is that a %5 grade is a good rule of thumb.
